Tortured pet's family has medical bills covered by community, reward nears $5000
NORTH PLATTE - After finding their dog dead from apparent torture, a North Platte family is getting help from the community for medical expenses.
This family is looking for answers on who tortured and killed their dog.
Our news partner KNOP reports that North Platte Police say the family's dog Kovu disappeared from its home on September 18. He was found two days later with severe burns which have been determined to have been intentionally inflicted.
NPPD is investigating it as a crime, but they have no leads. So they're turning to the public for help.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to arrest and prosecution.
