Pursuit through I80 construction zone ends with arrests
NORTH PLATTE - Two people from North Platte were arrested after a chase by Nebraska State Patrol Troopers early Thursday morning.
Troopers noticed a speeding car with a bad headlight on East State Farm Road around 1 AM.
The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled on Newberry Access Road and drove into an I-80 construction zone.
Authorities say the pursuit reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour and they exited the interstate at the Maxwell interchange.
The vehicle stopped in a ditch and two people ran from the area, but were arrested soon after.
24-year-old Logan Reed was arrested for reckless driving, avoiding arrest, obstructing a officer and traffic violations.
18-year-old Shellyna Nesslein was arrested for obstructing an officer.
