CHADRON - The City of Chadron declared a snow emergency Thursday morning in response to the overnight snowfall.
The snow emergency was in effect until 8 a.m.
During this time, all vehicles must be moved off the emergency snow routes to make it easier for plows on the streets to go curb to curb without having to maneuver around parked cars.
In addition, Chadron State College has closed its Campus Thursday because of the winter weather. Residence halls and dining services will remain open.
According to the National Weather Service, as of 10 a.m. Thursday the Chadron area has received around 6 inches of snow.
